Ready, Set, Summer!
I think I’ve been compiling a list of summer activities in my head since the dead of winter because damn, it was a cold one. Now the sun is here (and sometimes stays up later than I do…), it’s warm out, and weekends are precious again since I’m back to work. Last year was a unique summer — #BabyBabiak joined us at the end of May and Jay stayed home for a few weeks only to quit his job for school in August; the lazy days of summer stretched in to fall and a non-chalent maternity leave routine emerged.
This year, we have no grandioue vacay plans and we’re facing another “new-to-us” summer routine: I’m occupied Monday-Friday, Hubs is still in school with studying around the clock, and weekends need to strike a balance between school, summer fun, and re-charging. Enter my official summer list, which echoes our summer mantra of “It’s the small things”. Let’s see how many adventures we can conquer… and add to the list! Any suggestions?
Solo day at Le Nordik (because mama’s gotta unwind…)
• Pizza picnic in the park (last year’s was so much fun)
• Splish-splash at a splash pad
• Family hike
• Date day in Wakefield
• Beach day at Lac Phillipe
• Make ice cream
• Check out El Camino
• Street meat
• Capture a family photo/month (Success in May!)
• Day trip to Murphy’s Point
• Take in a baseball game
